Posted - 08/13/2011 : 2:33:51 PM I'm normally a saltie, but got my invite to go giggin last night for cats. I have to say, you guys up there have it made. We went to a "top secret" area (which to me was the entire lake)and were on them pretty much all night from 9:00 - 12:00. Ended up with around 10 with the largest around 40 lbs and the others between 10-30 lbs. I got to wipe off my summer salt slump and fill the freezer. I think I missed more than I hit , but had a blast anyway. Now, off to the fryer......

Posted - 08/17/2011 : 4:41:17 PM The gig I used was on a 30'string with a wrist loop. You stab and let go of the gig. The boat turns around and you pull up next to the gigged catfish and pull it up to the side of the boat keeping it in the water. Reach in the gills and pull it and the gig into the boat. In our case, we had a guy with another gig and a bow, so if it wasnt a good stab the first time around, it got 10 holes instead of 5. I'll try to post pics tonight.
