New to fishing off the GA coast (father in law got a place on St Catherines Sound), though we've done a bit off Edisto. To this newbies eyes its looks like it might be a nice weekend and I think we're going to be doing some trolling Saturday around the nearshore reefs, cat/j. Anyone else going to be out there, and what have yalls got into this year?

We were down two weeks ago and came up empty outside of having a pretty good haul of poggies, couldn't even find a cuda to give us some entertainment. Are Kings or spanish around yet?

Well no replies, but I hope we weren't the only ones to get into some fun this weekend. Crew of 4, one experienced, 2 that have been out a dozen or so times, and a newbie. It felt like we couldn't do anything wrong.

Bait balls bubbling on the surface all over, filled the well up with pogies after one good cast of the net. Headed out to the cat reef to do some trolling. First line in the water hit and we pulled in a nice spanish mackerel, continued the rest of the day. Finished up with 18 nice sized spanish keepers, and then we go into some 'cuda and brought in 3 of those.

Got over some cobia but the ones we had a chance with didn't want to take the bait, just gummed at it for a while and lost interest.

Darn fine day out.
