I have finally gotten where I can take a half a day to go fish, so the next nice day, I am going. What's biting around the jetties and up in the creeks? Anyone catching any nice flounder yet?

Fished Cherry grove pier Saturday. It was really crowded and we only caught 5 fish all day. I enjoy taking the boat out but it was really fun seeing all the pier fisherman and listening to them talk crap all day. We had a blast and will definitely be back. Everyone said the spot were running hard last weekend?

A buddy and I went Saturday for a couple of hours and did OK. I put a 39" red in the boat at the jetties and we got a handful of spots. We didn't really hit the flounder spots hard, but I think I need to because the water temp is about perfect right now for those fat momma floundas!!! BTW, there were a lot of people at LR on Saturday, as if y'all didn't already know that.
LBoogie, I like Snider a lot. Andre Grady is our defensive co-ordnator and he is good too. It will take a couple of years to get what the previous coach let happen out, but I think Jamie will do a great job. He's already working on the rec and B-Teams to work on terminology and such. I hope he can bring Loris back to what we used to be. Thanks for the compliment.

Loris is doing work in football...I played for the head man over there at Coastal years ago!! Snyder knows a little about football and he's got some talent to mold there!!

Goob, sorry I missed ya. I couldn't go anyways. I coach football at Loris High, and I have to be real careful on Fridays. Thanks for thinking about me, though.

Goozeman,
I tried calling you on Friday. I was going to see if you wanted to head south.

Wife and Son fished Wednesday in CG inlet(while I worked); they got 3 reds, a 31" a 24" and a 15", all released. Mullet. Near high tide.

So, I got to get on the water yesterday. I put a total of 7 spots in the boat along with 1 short flounder and 1 short trout.

Finnaddict, you da man. Also, I don't know if that's your wife or g/f in that avitar, but could you help me train my wife to do such? LOL I am gonna try to go Satruday. If I make it, I will post a report with pictures. Thanks again, dude!!!

The flounder bite has been solid for most of the summer. There are some scattered reports of trout showing up at the jetties and in the main creeks off oyster rakes on higher tides with cleaner water. The bull reds are still hanging at the jetties. The best time to catch a bull is the last hour of the rising tide drifting live mullet on the bottom. I would start just past the jetties and drift inward until you reach the red buoy. The smaller juvenile reds are still plentiful in the creeks around oysters, preferably at a lower tide, but they are always around. Gulp products, live shrimp or mullet on a jighead is the way to go.
The spot fleet is thick between the mouth of Tilman Creek and Bird Island.

how is that for a report? Now you have to post your report after you fish!
