Well I got quite a bit of interest and comments on my first build, "the blue center console I just finished" so I figured I would share my next and current project. I started about a month ago when my boat was out getting the aluminum work done and construction halted when the center console came back to get it finished for the fishing season. Now im ready to get back to construction on this boat. It is actually a custom build for someone that liked the center console so it will share a lot of the same finishes except this boat will be Fighting Lady Yellow. It is 17' long with a 7' beam and will have a 90hp engine. Hope you enjoy. Here are a few pictures leading up to its current stage.

Next step is planing all the chine logs, keel, sheer bands, and gunnel bands. Then to two layers of planking.

What is the selling price for the blue boat...turn key?

That is so exciting to see the steps in the build....can't wait to see the finished boat!

Wow

Hope I did not keep y'all working too late Friday. Will post a report from my visit later when I have time.

Y'all deserve all the success you'll have in the future. Wish more in our generation would ignore the fair, town festival, and football game going on while y'all prepped and painted. Sacrifice and dedication are understatements.......

Man I just found this thread this AM and have been trying to get some work done but not having much luck ;) Coming from someone that just helped some Cub Scouts build birdfeeders from a handful of pieces of 1"X boards...well what do I say but TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!

Haven't got on your website yet (I have to get something done today!!) but keep these posts coming! Really appreciate watching the whole build process.

You guys are dedicated, and we all thank you for taking the time to let us see day by day progress, but stop watching the race and post more pictures! Kidding, you guys are doing great things!
klnhrpr Posted - 03/03/2012 : 01:00:41 AM
Oh who could forget sanding! progress has been steady. You have the qualifications to sand. However if you have been enjoying the build we wouldn't want to ruin you by pushing a block!

Did you guys get down to Miami and forget you have boats to build??? Need to see some progress pictures. Do you need me to come and give a hand?? I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night...

LOL! definately a solid boat. there are some extras like real teak floor and covering boards, and the center console with the electrically actuated top center console and solid leaning post that are upping the weight but it all should look amazing!

We have it estimated at around 3000lbs dry without power. 4000 ready to fish. thats approximiating 1000lbs for fuel and power.

(250 fourstroke, 70 gals. of fuel)

Brooks: Thanks for the compliment man we really do appreciate them! And yes the trim tabs recesses are for volvo tabs.

Not stupid I'm almost certain those trim tab recesses are for QL Marine (Volvo Penta) tabs. They are very different from standard tabs. See http://www.great-water.com/pages/QL/QL_Trim_Sys.htm

If you look at the pic of the tabs, the recess will make sense.

The 21' is around, we have been wating on some teak but it has come in. We will dry-fit everything and make the helm pod. Then its off to paint. I keep telling Joel we will have it done in time to run to the ledge for some mahi...........
