Posted - 03/18/2012 : 2:37:06 PM Hunted the same field I hunted last year where I killed 2 birds. Saw natta. The only difference is hight of grass is 6" higher than last year. Do any of you think that grass 18" high that affects the vision of the turkey will not be used as much as when it is 12" high?
Hunting, fishing, and poker are my sports. Work when necessary.

Posted - 03/18/2012 : 8:46:08 PM I have seen birds shy away fron tall grass before, it could be due to lack of visibility. I have also hunted areas with tall and not had success in the morning, but had great hunts late in the day. If you walk through a field with tall grass in the morning you get wet, that same field will be dry in the afternoon. The dew maybe keeping the birds out of there until it dries out. The grass should provide the birds a great area to feed (seeds, grasshoppers, crickets and other insects). The other opition is bushhog it. They will be sure to show up ....
