Spring has sprung and the fish are biting! With all the nice wahoo, tuna, and dolphin being caught, it is the perfect time for you to register for the 4th Annual Georgetown Meat Fish Slam to benefit Kids' Chance of South Carolina, a non-profit organization that provides scholarships to dependents of South Carolina workers who have been seriously injured or killed on the job.

The dates are May 4 - 5, 2012.

Thursday, May 3, 2012: Entries and Payments must be submitted to Georgetown Landing Marina by 6:30 p.m.

Captain's Choice of ONE fish day: Friday, May 4th or Saturday, May 5th. Only one day can be counted for a fish day and boats must declare a fishing day by 6am of that day either via telephone or VHF Channel 16/72 or on the entry form.

Entry Fee is $250 (not included in payout) and benefits Kids' Chance of South Carolina. The entry fee is tax deductible as allowed by law.

Wahoo Calcutta is $150.00
Tuna Calcutta is $150.00
Dolphin Calcutta is $150.00
Aggregate Calcutta: $150.00
Big Dog Aggregate: $250.00

Prizes:

Dolphin Payout: 1st place $2,250.00 60% 2nd place $1,500.00 40%

Wahoo Payout: 1st place $2,250.00 60% 2nd place $1,500.00 40%

Tuna Payout: 1st place $2,250.00 60% 2nd place $1,500.00 40%

Lady Angler: $150.00
Youth Angler: $150.00

Aggregate Payout: 1st place $2,250.00 60% 2nd place $1,500.00 40%
*** Based on HEAVIEST WEIGHT of Tuna, Dolphin and Wahoo (all three species required). If no boat catches all 3 species then the HEAVIER of two categories (3 lighter fish will beat 2 heavier fish). ***

Big Dog Aggregate Payout: 1st place only $3,750 100%
***Based on HEAVIEST WEIGHT of Tuna, Dolphin and Wahoo (all three species required). If no boat catches all 3 species then the HEAVIER of two categories, (3 lighter fish will beat 2 heavier fish). Pays out 1st PLACE only. ***

This is a 100% payout tournament including the calcuttas. So as the field grows so does the prize money. In addition to cash prizes, the top three boats also win gift certificates from Roff's!

All rules and registration forms or available online at http://kidschancesc.org/upcoming-events, at Georgetown Landing Marina and Atlantic Game & Tackle.

The rules have changed this year to allow boats to fish out of Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet, Georgetown, and Charleston. However, fish must be weighed at Georgetown Landing Marina.

Dinner will be provided by Hog Heaven Barbeque both nights with karaoke and a silent auction being held on Saturday night, May 5th.

Silent auction items are needed so if you're interested in donating an item to this worthwhile cause, please let me know.

Congratulations to everyone fishing the 4th Annual Georgetown Meat Fish Slam for a job well done. The fishing was great with lots of fish caught and with over $13,000 in prize money awarded. The tournament was a great success and I appreciate everyone's support! The final results are as follows.

This weekend's tournament is forming into one of the best yet! Boats are registering left and right and it looks like we will have 18-20 boats fishing. If you haven't entered yet, be sure to get your registration in to Georgetown Landing Marina by 6:30 p.m. tomorrow!
