Are there any Georgetown / Winyah Bay shrimpers out there? I'm thinking during this season I'd like to get my father out to do some shrimpin' and he lives in Pawley's so the Winyah Bay would be the obvious location. Any information would be apprecaited. Can you shrimp in the day time there similiar to Bulls Bay or is night better like the Harbor? We would most likley launch at the landing near Downtown. As you go North over the Waccamaw the area off to the right (North Side of River) looks interesting. Are the best places on the North side of the bay or are the better areas further South as in launching from Belle Isle. I'm not looking to steal anyone's honey holes, I would just like some basic information about the Winyah to catch some shrimp so I don't waste my father's time.

A big factor will be how much rain we get this summer. A lot of rivers feed Winyah Bay.

Daytime. If the shrimp are there, it will be crowded.

Is the Winyah usually crowded during shrimp season? Can you catch them during the day?
