Droid maxx or whatever it is called. Battery is huge, 3300mAh versus 1500-2000 in most. Even with 4g i can get 2-2.5 days easy without having to charge. |

Not sure what they have for the Phone 8 release, but you are right about the app market. Definitely not as big as the other two, but it's hard to blame developers when Windows phone is only like 1% of the market (if that). I guess we will see how it goes. I hope it takes off. |

So it has - the lack of background audio capability was a concern, but admittedly I haven't installed Subsonic on either phone and actually tried it yet. The addition of Wifi tethering in Mango solved another issue I had. That leaves proper notifications and developer support as the two biggest things keeping me from using those phones on a daily basis. |

It really sucks as an application developer nowadays since the market is so fragmented. I have an idea for some applications, but when it comes down to the choice of picking a platform to develop for, it's pretty frustrating. I already know the Windows platform pretty well and there will be a meeting of the desktop and tablet in Win8. iPad\iPhone seem to own the mobile device market, but the development experience sucks. It seems that Android is gaining market share, and the development experience is a lot better than Apple, but not quite as good as on "Winders"... But, my application will have plenty of use on the desktop too... Tough choices... |

An iPhone, an iPad, three rooted and customized Android phones, and two Windows Phones at the moment.
An Android tablet is probably in my near future. My iPad 1 is getting slower and slower for even basic tasks with every software update Apple releases ... by design I'm sure.
I am impressed with the originality of Windows Phone 7. Apple pioneered the touchscreen "wall of icons" design, and Android, even with the additions of a proper notification system and widgets, mostly perpetuated it. Windows Phone 7 is a little more unique. I respect that, but a few of its shortcomings are hard to get past - proper notifications and all but basic multitasking being two of the most major. The relative lack of developer support for WP7 is also a little difficult to ignore.

I have an Android Phone, HTC Thunderbolt, aside from the horrible battery life it works great. (by noon the phone is dead)
I have an Android Tablet, ASUS Transformer, the first one, with the keyboard. Just got the Ice Cream Sandwich Operating System upgrade a few weeks ago. This thing is great, has "Gorilla Glass" made by Corning so it doesn't scratch and the keyboard/dock has USB Ports and an extra battery in it. I will run (not just on stand by) for more than 10 hours.
The advantage of two android devices is that they can sync installed programs. I have the Navionics app on both of them. Plus having a car navigation screen that is 10 inches and can pick up satellite views and Street View while your driving is great.
