Took advantage of the weather window and took off work Wednesday to head out to the ledge. We stopped 2 miles short of the south end of Edisto banks at 8:05AM. First line in the water got hit 1 minute after setting the drag with a sailfish. After a short display of vertical jumps and tailwalking the sail was gently handled alongside the boat ventilated constantly with the boat in gear while we removed the hook carefully made sure the fish was fully revived and released. Two small gaffer dolphin in the same area before 9am. The bite slowed down a little late morning but we managed 2 more slingers and went 2 for 3 on the Wahoo. Totals 4 phins, 2 Wahoo and 1 Sail.
74 degrees stayed on in 150 to 220 ft of water all day, scattered weeds and patches of fliers. Just beat the storm into the harbor and got soaked and frozen by the cold rain and wind while loading the boat and cleaning the fish. Great day on the Black Pearl. Thanks capt Tom.

Simply referring to your status Sir = New Member! As far as the release I could give a Sh$t less! I can guarantee that if somebody on my boat catches their first Billfish its coming over the side for pics!!! Don't Like It - Don't fish on my Boat! As far as the NOAA regulations, with all the crap that has come out of that agency recently -I don't believe 99.9% of anything they produce! Congrats again for a great day on the water and I didn't mean to offend you on the Newbie status!

I am certainly not a newbie as I have been fishing offshore in Charleston for 23 years. I have been reading this website since it started and I know (**() well not to post a picture of a mishandled billfish. I was trying to be a bit of a smartass. I think this site is an awesome resource and I figured it was time to start posting our trips to share the information.
What a great year so far! - Catch em up.

He might be a newbie but obviously has been reading the massacres that occur from posting an improper sail release here on CF!! Even the CF police can't B$tch about this one!
