Just returned from a gigging trip with the new White Led light set-up. Generator can now be a boat anchor or left at the house. We only ran four fixtures and were spotting flounder 20 ft in front of the boat with ease. Ended up with approx 130# and at the end we were down to only three fixtures as we struck a lonely pole marker which looked like a local installed while we were running 30 which knocked one of the fixtures off of the mounts we had made. I just got my set-up for the Jesse James and it will be insane. four fixtures with the driver will illuminat approximately 80 ft behind the boat and sides. I will be sure to take pics when we hit the blue water again for an overnighter. Looks like the Hydro-Glows will not be missed.
Here are some demos of Andy's lights light he made for us. You can get solid or strobe configuration as you choose. we have the constant on for now. not bad for 50 bucks a light

Each fixture is around 3 amps, so figure your reserve capacity of your batteries. We have run them all night crappie fishing on a small boat, all night with a trolling motor and the light going, never any problems. They are insanely bright. We have tried every light option imaginable for flounder gigging, 12 volt sea-striker fixtures, 110volt bulbs in those fixtures, High pressure sodium, Mercury vapor, Halogen, Incandescent, multiple different LED set-ups and this one is the final solution, satisfaction has been achieved. For flounder gigging, we are running them with 3 per side now which is a little overkill but we do it commercially and try to be as effective as possible with our time on the water. I can't wait to try these new green ones offshore this summer in the Gulf Stream.
