I am new to Tarpon fishing and the Saint Simons area. What area would be best for me to cut my teeth? Saint andrews Sound? Althamah basin? Hampton River?.Any insight would help,I have a lot to learn and explore.
Also are there any local fishing clubs I could join to meet fellow anglers.
Thanks

Thanks Cracker Larry for the information. This is all kinda new to me.I mainly fish for big Blue Cats in the tidal waters of VA.My daughter moved to Englewood FL and I went out with one of her friends and caught a couple.Awsome fish.I released them, of course. From what I understand in Ga its mostly Menhaden and ancoring up , a lot like the fishing I do at home.I know I got a lot to learn tho.
Thanks Again

I don't think there are many members in the SSI area on this forum. You would probably get more local information from http://www.coastaloutdoors.com/ibf/index.php?act=idx. There are a lot of fishermen in that area who post there. Good luck!
