I've seen 2x boats for sale, both "stinger" brand on the side. I have tried to search but the only stinger I can come up with is the Lowe aluminum one- these are not the same...

I did search on CF.com and found someone who said they were local and inexpensive - anyone have any experience with the 16ft'er ?

I've had a 15.5' Stinger for 3 years. About a 2003 model w/ yamaha 40hp. Its makes a good fishing boat. Not the best to cruise around in if you don't have mounted in cushions or seats. Mine hauls tail. I heard the hull is made by scout and seels mounts the electronics and motor. I have not had any complaints about the quality of the boat. I've got the side console, wish I had the center console it would utilize the limited space better. Floats in 1/2' of water I believe. Good bare bones boat, plenty of room to add custom stuff. Has a max capacity of 4 people, but I couldnt imagine having more than 3 people in it trying to fish seriously. It looks like seals now makes "sundance" instead, looks to be the same idea but the fiberglass is finished.

no blue book value, should be able to scoop one up pretty cheap...

They're pretty decent fishing boats. Nothing fancy but I would not at all mind owning one. MCFDoom on here has one and it rides pretty nice and is perfect for 2 people fishing.

Thought Stingers stopped being made about 2 years ago. I bought a 2006 144 with a Yam 40 for a "creek boat" in 2008. It's hull design rides very well, is simple to maintain and repair, and has great basic features. I like the fact it has no gelcoat inside-simple to hose down and walk away. I've plenty of gelcoat to clean on my other boats. It's hard to beat them for the dollar. I bought the 2 year old one, with trailer, for $3300. Highly recommended!

pretty sure scout doesnt build them, but that they are the older model scout hull design with spatter finished inside. great little boat, we have a 2001 16' for sale for, and I have used several times, and its hard to beat for an inshore creek/bay fishing boat. only thing you have to be careful of, is cracks at teh transom. they didnt use enough glass at teh connection between the transom and the side boxes.

Chris is spot on. Scout did NOT make the hull. It is a Scout copy that was made over on Dorchester Rd. I just sold my 2002 16 foot with a yamaha 60 on it. It was great for fishing, shrimping, and running about. It hauled a$$, but would porpoise bad if a passenger and gear was not up in the bow area. Pretty solid boat though for the most part. Call Al Seels and he can tell you all that you need to know about them.

I have a year 2000 14ft. side console Stinger with a 2005 Yamaha 50hp. It's a great little boat that rides very well. Definately recommend them. Nothing fancy, but thats ok with me. Normally I prefer a center console, but the 14ft. side console has alot of room in it for a small boat. It would be hard to walk around in a center console thats that small. Boat seems really wide & stable too to be that small.

I have a 144SC with a 50yamma. Like Rapchizz said its PERFECT for inshore fishing with 2 people. Can get up in the skinny waters, and yet is still pretty decent when running through the harbor or out to the jetties.

I have a 2006 Stinger 144sc (14'-3" side console) with a Yamaha 50. The only boat I ever owned. Great for a two man fishing boat.

It is a small family business in the idustrial park accross from Archdale subdivision on Dorchester Rd. The mother works the office and the father and son build boats from scratch. They changed the name of the boat from Stinger to Outer Banks a couple of years ago, but stopped making them altogether when the recession hit.

I believe they still do boat repair in the same facility at 4747 Franchise St. N. Charleston. Very nice people.

I had a 16 Stinger. I sometimes wish I'd never sold it. Great little boat that drafts about 6 or 8 inches of water but handles a chop fairly well. I'd get a 60 on it if I did it again, though.

I am fixing to get my hands on a little 13' tiller Stinger. This one has some rot in the transom and the bow but its not from the builder. It was from someone else installing stuff and not properly sealing when they did the installs.

I am planning on throwing a new transom at it, fixing up the bow deck and redoing the boat just for a fun project and something that I can do with my daughter.

I work on boats everyday and this little Stinger has really caught my eye. I think it will be a great little boat when it is done.

Catphish, you can move the console over to the center. It's finished on both sides.

Craig,
I came across your ad on Craigslist for the molds you're selling and was wondering if you will sell any of the molds seperately?
