Heading up August 17th for 10 days. Renting an rv and driving Homer to Denali and Anchorage to Valdez. Any help appreciated.

Ha awesome, Im taking same trip but July 2-9. We are doing a halibut charter in Homer and that's as much as our plans consist of. We are also renting an RV.

You are very lucky. Alaska is one of my favotite plsces.
Stay in Danali National park 2 days. You can get a helicopter to take you to a glacier and have lunch. Get on a day cruise boat and whale watch. We were lucky enough to have a momma whale and her calf stay by the boat for an hour. we also got within 100 yds of the glacier that kept dumping sheets of ice into the sea.
You must go halibut fishing in Homer. You should also go salmon fishing.
On an aside, I was in a bar and a woman next to me orderd blow job and an orgasm. The bartender did not blink and mixed those drinks. Ah Alaska.

Hunting, fishing, and poker are my sports. Work when necessary.

get a book called the milepost it gets revised every year it's full of helpfull information on driving and what not. The fishing regs are super screwy in the streams make sure you know where you are if you intend to fish any streams. Gamewardens up their have planes they like to stop by for chats.
buy lots of bug spray!!!! if you think you have enugh go buy 3 more cans.
Homer is a chill town I spent some time living on "the spit" working on a boat called the Halibut King - who knows if it's still floating this was back in 96. Certainly explore and have fun.
