Drifted big mullet today in the channel with those wire rigs. No takers, just kept bumping the boat in and out of gear. Don't know if I was doing it right or if the kings weren't there. Any advise would be great cuz kings are new to me.

trolled clarkspoons, clark squid and big drones on planers and surface over the weekend, targeting spanish and hoping for a king. 3-6kts, nothing but one small spanish and a few knockdowns. didn't see any kings sky all day, only a few topwater blitzes from the spaniards.

i know they're here, i'm just not very good at it. next attempt will be the same as yours- drifting some live stuff over structure or channel.

Several weeks ago I was in the Spanish pretty heavy and the Kings were ambushing. I was trollimg a #00 Clark and decided to put on a 24"trailer with a finger mullet. 2 hits within 3 mins. 18 an a 20. Went bigger bait and got 3 nice keepers. Gotta follow the Spanish though, once I lost them it was over. Hard to stay in them also. My 2 cents worth!
