I had an 8hr trip on Monday with a group from Texas (dad and three teenage and young men). First bait in the water was at about 160' straight out of the rocks and didn't even get a chance to put the line in the outrigger clip before a 10-15lb. dolphin grabbed it and ended up in the fishbox. We trolled for another hour or so and missed a couple of wahoo (actually saw one come out of the water and eat a short rigger bait then cut through the line)and a few other mystery bites. Never got deeper than 260'. Ran back into 110' and bottom fished. Finished the day with plenty of nice black sea bass, two very nice red snapper (released unfortunately), small amberjacks, sharks and other bottom dwellers. All in all, it was a great day of fishing and the Texans had blast on their first time on the ocean.
