Here are some pics from the past weekends hunt plus one from the farm. BeagleMan got a doe Monday evening here at the farm and there were five taken at Briar Creek Saturday. Lots of good races and plenty of misses. Everyone had a good time and we were able to make three turn outs and the rest of the club made a man drive right there at the end of the day.

How would you suggest getting one out of a deep canal?

Maybe the same way, but I would have removed the chain before taking the picture so it doesn't wind up on some PETA website and some BS story attached to it. I just think as sportsman we need don't need to help the anti's, and they thrive on a our "proud moments" caught on camera.Absolutley nothing against the hunt, I bow hunt, you gun hunt, it's all hunting and all good in my book.

I'd leave it there. Shoot another one that is easly accessible by vehicle.

sounds like it was a good hunt. but seriously i would take that one with the chain around his neck down. i understand what it was for but some liberal jacka$$ would flip it around. makes us hunters look bad

Backlash and phinfreak I am not going to do it. The pic stays.

If admin were to ask I would pull it. Or they could delete it themselves if they want it down.

Put me on ignore if I offend you.

Beagle
I don't care how you drag her out. Keep pic in. Screw PETA.
I snuck back to SC today and hunted tonight. Saw a big bodied deer right at dark. Did not feel comfrotable taking shot.
I will hunt Friday-Sat and then I am done for year
Have to go to my Florida home for the holidays

Hunting, fishing, and poker are my sports. Work when necessary.

You obviously missed the point or just don't care about the fact our sport is under serious attack, and dog hunting is at the top of the list because of things like this. I commented about the buck with chain around it's neck for you other guys, not the little doe in the ditch that a 10 year old could have pulled a mile. And I'll end by saying I love a good chase with a good pack of dogs. Did it every saturday for years on the Marine Corp Air station in Beaufort. Keep the picture up, that's your call.

Just a little FYI, the little doe in the canal is the same deer. It is the buck with the chain. chain pic was taken once the deer had been hoisted up the side. Said canal is atleast six feet deep. Deer weighed 120 pounds. Lousy horns, needed to be taken out of our gene pool.

Now now now BW "Lousy horns, needed to be taken out of our gene pool" come on that deer isn't over 18 months old. Could have been a real nice one in about 3 years ya never know.....

But I dont care, I used to be a dogger did it every weekend and some Wednesdays since I was 9. it Just got to much hassle around here. We had over 2500 acres. Now that same club (family club) now has over 3000. Take care and keep up the killin. Have A Very Merry Christmas....

Going to Church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

Never said anything about the deer, just the chain around it's neck and the picture. But now that you cleared it up, that is a really small deer. If you are that proud of the picture, then keep it here. But you make dog hunters look bad. I will now ignore you

Horn size is just a plus, looks like a fun hunt to me. Backlash is just mad because he cant keep up with dock hunters anymore... age takes a toll

I made the pic with the tongue my background pic. That's just me.

I have waited four days for someone to mention the tongue shot. To me it is good form.

Beagle I think you are taking thoughts and opinions as attacks...but if it makes you feel better about yourself to make the tongue pic your wallpaper, more power to ya! While I do not have ANY desire to dog hunt myself, I am not one that is against it(it just needs to be done properly with respect to other landowners, not intentionally dumping dogs on someone elses property). It is a long standing tradition and I did my share of it with my grandad growing up. I think a lot of the comments on here were an attempt to help unify hunters as a whole and many are just saying some pics are better left off of public forums, not too mention taking 20 secs to clean up your harvest before pics to me is just simple respect to the animal you harvest,IMO. There is no question hunting as a whole is under attack more and more each day, and unfortunately pics like some of the above only help feed the fire...to which you seem to have no concern over. Would love to see the same effort you put into posting your pics and reports go into supporting the future of hunting itself(maybe you do already, not saying you don't).Good luck the rest of the season

@ partners-ship i dont think youd really want to screw all of peta maybe just a select few. and their is nothing wrong with a chain on your deer fyi. I would clean em up especially a small one but thats just me.

A small fish in hand is better than big fish in thought

It doesn't bother me at all and I don't see why it would bother anyone that has ever been successful at hunting deer. Anybody that has ever been hunting knows you use whatever makes the job easier to get the deer out of the woods. The photo with the chain just shows the reality of it all.
