got in the stand at 430pm. 10 hours later they showed up. The group was in the bushes but the wind shifted and I thought she was about to bust me so I took the shot. I didn't want to go home empty handed after 10 hours by waiting for the multi kill. She was 150lbs. forgot to turn my IR Light on so the video is fuzzy. I turned t on after the kill. enjoy

Good killin'. That corral trap had any activity? They took 6 small pigs out of that swamp trap last week. Roland moved my swamp climber because he had a big sow pinpointing the old location and staying in cover. Might be time to relocate that one across the road.
Mark Mako 262 Twin Yammaha F200s Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

NICE!!!!...arrowed 7 between 100-200#'s since Jan 2 and shot a 350 pounder with rifle myself since goat season ended...
I feel like hunting season never ended for me since I have been working on the swine at my future father-in-laws property! Who knew it would be so much fun to stick these nasty b**tards with the bow! Even occasionally get the ole squeel out of em! Going one last time this coming weekend, then backing out til next year so I don't booger his gobblers |

Sniper Great video!!! I am seriouly considering a set up like yours...the recorder and scope. I already have the 6.8 Rem. Will it record in the daylight? I hunt almost exclusively whitetails and I can justify the expense if I can video my deer hunts. Thanks!!!

Yes it will work in the day time. Since it is digital night vision, there is no need for a light filter. the scope works great 24/7/365

2 AM in South Carolina? May want to delete this post, or at least change your profile from your real name to an alias:
FERAL HOGS - There is no closed season on hogs on private land and hogs can be hunted at night with an artificial light that is carried on the hunter's person attached to a helmet or hat, or part of a belt system worn by the hunter and with a sidearm that has iron sites, and barrel length not exceeding nine inches (50-11-710). The sidearm may not be equipped with a butt-stock, scope, laser site, or light emitting or light enhancing device.
Maybe you know something I don't.

Thanks Sniper, your videos may cause me to spend some $$$$. But I think it would add a new diamension to my deer hunting, film my deer hunts!
My son just moved to Charleston. He is a firefighter for the CFD. He is new to the state, he wants to find a hog/deer lease. Do you have any tips for him?
thanks

Not when you have a permit from the Rabbit Sheriff.

thanks Mark. I have a special permit that allows me to take hogs after hours with a rifle. I personally think the permit process is stupid and we should follow Texas and Georgia and be able to hunt them without the permit but I am sure SC will wait until hogs have gotten totally out of control before they address the problem

I agree 100%. How do you get a permit? Is it just for private lands? Can you do it for your own land, or must you do this for a living?
Thanks! Mick

Contact the local DNR office and have them send Green Jeans out to your property. Show them the hog damage and destroyed areas. They will see the sign and issue the permit based on the area and conditions. We initially started out with shotgun only permits, mainly because the Club President is a dumbass but finally got him to change it to rifle.

Thanks, Mark. So the weapons choice is up to the landowner?

No, not unless you schmooze him are you going to get rifle permits for night hunting. Our hogs have been pretty much strictly nocturnal for a long time now and seem to be trap shy/educated.
I haven't got to use it yet but I'd love to draw down a herd of pigs around a feeder with my Super Black Eagle with the 10shot extension tube and Picatinny mounted light.
