we should take over Morris Island for a Saturday.

issues with Morris Island I see...1. are they still banning grilling, drinking, etc on the harbor end? 2. if so then the lighthouse end can be tricky to get to if unfamiliar with the creeks... the Stono end of Kiawah is also a nice, laid back, easy-to-get-to place... Botany wasn't but bad, but it is way down there...

botany is pretty far.. and sandy point aka kiawah on the stono inlet is really really crowded. and morris island is really tricky, especially for people that havent ran it, we'd be gettin phone calls all day of people getting lost and stuck.

i love that beach we go their all the time. it has a nice creek for little ones, but dogs arent allowed. occasionally the guys from the park will drive up on their atvs and tell you to put the dog up, or write you a ticket. i guess kiawah would probably work best even though its crowded. some of us will just have to get theri early and hold a spot by the creek( i volunteer myself ) and fyi the cuddy cabin is still their but those moon tides washed it into the creek. my dad and i are talking about buying a trailer and getting seatow to tow it off the beach for us on a flood tide and bring it home, rip it up and redo it completley! would be a nice ride for offshore

Lol...yeh we know all about the tickets and dogs...one day into the ..."no dogs on beach between 10 am and 6 pm" we stopped there to get minnows from the creek...it was 1015 a.m. ..."the man" comes up on a four wheeler and gives us a 150.00 ticket...Roo was On a leash and at the waterline with Donnie and I...we told them why we were there and that we were just waiting on the trap in the creek......didn't matter... Poor-poor Roo was soooo embarrassed to become a felon.....he even said...well two days ago and fifteen minutes earlier you would have been ok
May lst thru sept 30th. No dogs n beach between ten a.m. And six p.m.

Park man but he had a regular officer with him too.....silly me...they come flying up on the four wheeler and I say..hey..how are you today...man doesn't bat a eye..need to see your license maaamm... .? Huh I say ...illegal dog he says.... We really didn't have a clue...guess we didn't consider that as part of " the beach" ,,,and there were no signs posted like on bird key and such....not even the protected bird area signs...we could have thrown Roo on the bow of the boat easy enough...and silly me stands there in the edge with her thinking they were stopping to say hello...oh well...lesson learned...
.......next time I'll dress her as a cat ;)
Went to court...reduced to a hundred..still hurt...

| FYI if someone was going to write you a ticket it would be a public safety officer not a park employee. There are no sworn leo park rangers around here that I am aware of |

| That sucks. You should have made Roo pay for the ticket out of her "modeling" money. |

if a few of us get to kiawah beach early enough we can hold a good spot by the creek to put our canopy tents and chairs and set up. I'll volunteer to run myself in my jonboat up their early and help setup and hold a spot. once we pick a date i'll tell my parents. i say sometime in june or early july. we could have an early july 4th party? haha but a weekend in june would be good.

i know right. but at least they dont make you pay to pull up their though, being as its a part of the park. and no and no dogs definitly not doing folly! whenever were out their on folly we always keep an eye out and throw the dog over the bow when they round the corner. it looks sketchy but it works. i believe kiawah is he best bet as it has a nice creek for kids and dogs to swim in, lots of room, and no rules. and it is accesable from folly sol leagare wappoo cut riverland terrace and limehouse..if you wanna make that run. So whens the party?
