I hope you are not playing for money.
I'll read about you in the paper.
You may want to delete your post about Stonoman running a poker game at his place near Marker 55.
When I was in high school a group of us got together at Dan Kasten's and we played nickel, dime, quarter, dealer calls.
Brings back memories of fun times. Back then, 8 ounce Old Style draft beers were 15 cents in the bars, gas was 27 cents a gallon.
If you drank enough Bullfrog beer, you would croak.
Sounds like fun...
My hometown was Appleton, WI. College Avenue had about 28-32 taverns on it in a 2 mile stretch. We would start out at Geno's Crystal Chandelier, 1 beer at a place around 6 or 7 PM. If you got back to Geno's after making the rounds, still walking, he would give you a free one before closing time at 1 AM. The foosball was great after that! 25 cents a pop!!!
It was called the Death March.
I only successfully completed 2 during my high school career. |

Sounds like I was doing the same thing, but, down in New Holstein. Not as many bars in the mile long town, about 10. However, surrounding area between Appleton and Fondulac had far to many small town and country bars to remember. (did you ever go to Sherwood?) In winter we would hit Brothertown and drive frozen Winnebago to Oshkosh. Old style and cheap gas were the norm, as well as Old Gold cigarettes. Appleton always had the cheapest gas during the "gas wars" (be nice if there still were such a thing). Poker games started out nickel, dime quarter, but, you know how that goes when drinking and playing 2 or 3 card guts.
Enjoy your game Joe, if I were closer I would take you up on it. |

Mercy wear, what a nice memory.
Sherwood, yes, and Old Gold's...
gracious, thank you.
Fished on Winnebago in the back of Jim H's ford with the seat out and a hole cut in the floorboard. |

Yep.
Its only illegal if the "house" is making money off the other players (IE raking each hand or getting cash for running a tournament).
