I have found a few lots on eBay look like good deals if the bidding stays low (which they usually do) any of my CF fly tyers want to look in and split a lot or two. If this is something you would be interested in shoot me a PM. Here is one for example

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Large-Lot-Fly-Tying-Material-Feathers-Thread-Case-/380417179618?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5892a17fe2

Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

I never buy tying material blind... I gotta touch it before i'm gonna spend money. There are just too many variable involved.

that being said if you get it cheap enough you can just throw the crap away that you don't want and still probably come out good..

I gave it a quick look but, I don't see any colors (of materials) that I need or want. Good of you to ask, though.

Yeah Mike I see what you're saying about not touching it but truthfully, I got a saddle REALLY CHEAP it wasn't the highest of quality, but it really has turned out well for the saltwater flies, being the large and inconsistent quality that it is

Got ya. Hard to go wrong with a 10 to 15 dollar bid an just about anything.

But... (and this is a lot just about me) when I buy material, I calculate in my head that I will use 80 percent of the material or I won't buy it. I've set a goal of maintaining just 2 plastic shoe boxes of materials. I know that some of the guys have 2 foot lockers full of the stuff. Maybe that is where these eBay deals are coming from?
