Haddrells Point Summer Fishing Challenge
These will be a series of 3, month long tournaments... April= Wahoo May= Dolphin June= Kings
Registration Fee: $300 per boat per month you wish to fish, and you must register prior to the 1st of the month you wish to fish. This tournament is 100% payout! 70% 1ST PLACE, 30% SECOND PLACE
Rules: Boats get to fish a total of 2 days in the tournament. Captains are required to call either store during working hours the day before they plan to fish, as this will be logged as one of your fishing days. IF you are weathered out on that fish day, you must notify Haddrell's by 9am that morning, otherwise that day will be counted as one of your fish days. Fish must be weighed in the same day you were logged to fish. Fish can be weighed at either HPT location during regular business hours. In the event of a tie, the first fish weighed is deemed winner. NOTE: Both stores have scales certified by the Dept of Agriculutre, and ALL state and federal laws apply.
Please feel free to call either Haddrells Point location with any questions you may have(843)573-3474 in West Ashley and (843)881-3644 in Mt Pleasant. We look forward to making this a competitive but fun tournament that allows you to pick your own fish days based on weather and your own free time, and helps keep boats of all sizes on an equal playing field. Stay tuned for an additional dolphin tagging competition during the tourney in May! Thanks and tight lines!

Weigh in on the day of catch? The catch cannot be weighed the next day? That could be very hard to make it by closing time. Next day weigh in would be a good amendment.

That means you have to have your fish at the store by 5 on sat and 3 on sunday. Thats a short fishing day for guys who can only fish weekend. Just a suggestion but next day wieghin would be a huge plus!

Scott,
I agree with Lowcountry - a slight change to be able to weigh in by 8-9 am the next morning would be a big plus. Lets be honest - if guys are going to cheat, well their gonna cheat no matter how bulletproof you make the rules! For instance I call the store on Friday morning to tell you I'm fishing Saturday, go ahead put the boat in and fish the afternoon bite, pull an overnight and Fish Saturday 2 for 1 Special! Or I call right after you open on Saturday while I'm headed out to fish, fish all day with no luck and call Sunday morning and cancel out for the day!! Just a thought - Love the tournament idea but would like to fish a full day without the pressure of getting back. I'm fishing no matter but might help get more boats registered??

5:30 on saturday, 5:00pm on sundays during the fishing season as Reel Shallow mentioned.Have looked at a lot of tourneys that have weigh-ins from 4-6. If you feel during your fish day that you may be running a little bit late getting in, call us at either store and we will have someone stay a little late to accomodate. The angler and fish is all we need to record your catch, so it would be feasible just to throw the fish and angler in a truck and run up to either location upon your return. Our goal is to keep the tourney as simple and straight forward as possible, but keep it fun at the same time. We genuinely appreciate the interest and suggestions, and after we get through doing this the first year we can always look into further changes at that time. Let's fish and have fun with it!
