Tried the search function and couldnt get anywhere. I though i would tap into cf.c's infinite wisdom. I am in the market for a lifepreserver for our 5 month old boy. What model brand etc. would yall recomend? Cost is really not an issue as i am not going to scrimp in this area. Would really like to have the best we can get and have it last us at least through this summer. He's larger than your average 5 month old though @ over twenty pounds and 30" tall.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,
Hunter

That's a healthy 5 month old!! I have an Overton's Biolite infant vest, I think its rated up to 30lbs. I ordered it online and I am happy with it. Easy to put on and the kid doesn't seem to mind it. Daughter is 2 and only 25lbs and fits her well.

Pesca- Look at the Mustang jackets. I like them for the simple fact that they are made from one thicker piece of foam in the back and front sections instead of 2 thinner pieces. Don't know much about the neoprene jackets, but the material may be softer/more comfortable than the traditional material.

Hunter, in May our club is going to have a safety event to address that very thing, and many others. We are going to open that event to the general public and bring the Coast Gaurd and others to promote safety education. Would love for you and others to attend. More details will come.

In the mean time, I'm guessing you can Google some answers, but if you aren't comfortable with the results PM me and I'll put you in touch with a person that can and is more than willing to help.
