I found some nice sheltered spots next to docks and flat wore out the reds. I stopped counting when my camera messed up and wouldn't shoot any more pix. Caught 6 and broke off one in a 10 minute spell.

Best guess is 15 to 20 reds ranging from 17 to 30 inches.

2 freight trains broke me off today. The first got into the pilings. The second I grabbed to spool to keep it from getting to the pilings and 30 lb braid popped like a pistol shot.

YEEEEEEE HAAAAAAA Spring is coming early.

I'm splicing together a nice video highlight reel...

Good work. Hard to find a sheltered spot. Took my son yesterday and managed to get a couple of sheeps and a few spots. Almost got blown clear to Savannah!

JI
When the tide slowed, the wind blowed!! Came back to landing thru white caps!!! The wind blew soo hard it would shake the rod! Hard to wait on the sheep bite with the rod being blown around!

There have been good fish in the Stono all winter. It's the bite window that's been really , really tight this year.

First cast Saturday morning brought this to the boat.

When I netted it I looked down in the water and saw some braid floating and a popping cork against a piling. Wanted to be a nice guy and get trash out of the river...
This was still attached.

Handlining an angry red is a hoot.

I noticed this winter that the bite would "turn on" for a pretty short period of time. I may see fish all over the place during a day, but they'd only bite for 30 minutes to an hour.
