I'll be coming down on Thursday, we are staying in North Myrtle about 2 miles south of the Little River Inlet, but didn't know if the bait had started showing up in the creeks. I'll be bringing my kayak, obviously, so didn't know if I would do better in the creeks and IC, or out front. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Paddlin

You might want to post this in the Grand Strand or Little River section. You may get more responses.

Little River Inlet or Hog Inlet?
The backwater up at Cherry Grove can be a blast in a yak. Good fishing from "the lake" all the way to the mouth of Hog Inlet.

Was looking on Google Maps, and what ever inlet is just south of The Little River Inlet is the one closest to where I am staying (about 8 miles). There is a Heritage Nature Preserve on the back side of the inlet as well. I'm gonna guess that "the lake" is referring to Lake Drive which runs parallel to this area? It does look fun back there.

Have the finger mullet started showing up in the creeks yet? I have plenty of DOA Shrimp and grubs to throw if not. Thanks

I'm seeing some finger mullet here, haven't explored up that way yet this season.
"The lake" is between 34th and 39th. I usually fish between 39th and the launch at 53rd

Gotcha, thanks...I guess it is a lake with a lot of canals. Does the whole area flood at high tide?

most of it. I've heard of wadeable flats, but haven't been on any.

Thanks for the advice Too Busy, caught 2 trout and a good size bluefish. Fished he two hours before low tide and the 4 hrs after. All were caught on electric chicken grub. Caught several regular size mllet, but didn't see and finger mullet around. Probably spent more time just sight seeing than anything else. Will probably go back on Sunday morning. Gonna head out to the big lake tomorrow.

I fished on Sunday from the boat ramp back toward the back side of Cherry Grove and caught a trout. I don't think I made it all the way to the lake before I tured around and headed toward the inlet. Between the boat ramp on 53rd Ave. and the inlet I caught 18 trout on an electric chicken grub and paddle tail. I also used a green grub with an orange tail that I caught a few on as well. It was almost an even split between the outgoing tide and incoming tide, both were productive.

There were quite a few guys out there flounder fishing, but didn't see anyone catching any.
