If you are going to trailer the boat out of state, especially into Florida during any of the hurricane months, make sure you ask your potential carrier if you are covered, and GET IT IN WRITING ON LETTERHEAD...an email from the agent doesn't work (I learned the hard way). The only group I could find that covered you anywhere in North America, without exception was Charter Lakes (800-879-2248). They only require you to have an evacuation plan submitted to them in the event a storm approaches your location. They will also pay to have your boat removed from the water, and secured at no cost to you if you don't have a trailer.
