It has to do with Lateek Townsend getting a RS last year, while the NCAA investigated him and actually imposed a 4 game suspension, so the university of clemson pulled the RS after 4 games so that the suspension wouldn't apply for this year.
Tim Bourret announced this cell phone violation with LT's high school coach on Wednesday, March 14, 2012. Said their appeal process would take blah, blah, blah...and they decided just not to appeal after all and let him play last year after the 4 game deal was satisfied while he was in everyone elses eyes a RS. Also said this whole deal had nothing to do with u of c.
Morris was the one who said originally that LT would redshirt. He then miraculously announced after 4 games that LT was needed by the team to compete.
This was kept from everyone until yesterday.
The press up there is not the same as the press in Columbia. In the State Capital, if a USC athlete jaywalks, it's in the press the next day. The police force up there also answers to the AD.
And it is not about hate at all.
All so very neat, simple and explainable, but they didn't need to explain it, because no one asked about it, because no one knew about it.
They are a deceitful bunch up there. They are.
Some may argue they are reaping what they've sown.
And I am not the least surprised that Bonzo and DF regard me as they do. It's what they do. They have either bought in to this crap or they approve of it. And neither should be a source of pride.

A 4 game suspension by the NCAA appears harsh in my eyes for a cell phone benefits violation.
And the university of clemson conveniently abandoned their appeal citing time constraints, yada, yada, yada.
Something here doesn't add up to me.
And I guarantee right here in front of everyone, that the press in clemson will not pursue this.
And neither will the Columbia press pursue.
But I will be greatly disappointed if the Charleston press, or someone else, doesn't.
You will never hear another word about this, most likely.
And this style of disclosure has been going on up there for years.
And, mark my words, the university of clemson supporters on this site, and everywhere, will call this a non-story.
We won't have to wait long to hear it.
I'm just so "eat up" with hate.

You're an idiot. His suspension had nothing to do with Clemson University or its coaches. The kid served his punishment and was cleared to play, how they decided to present it or politicize it is their perogative. Some of you are so "eat up wid it" you'll try to make something out of absolutely nothing, IT IS a non-issue. Morons.

Kid gets cell phone/improper benefit from his HS coach. NCAA learns about it and tell Clemson he has to sit out four games as a penalty. Clemson originally thought they could just redshirt him and get around it but it was to be served under an active playing period. They removed the redshirt, he sat 4 games then came in and played ST and some defense, if what they feilded last season could be considered defense. They did what any school would have done with a true freshman in that situation until the NCAA clarified it. Its not a big deal unless you're a homo eat up with something this stupid.

wow, something doesn't seem right. AJ Greene got 4 games for selling a jersey while he was on the team. getting 4 games for something while in HS.......does not add up to me.

Since when has the NCAA ever meted out even consistant punishments. Neither Ohio State nor UNC got near the punishment they deserved while So Cal got hammered for similar things. It is what it is, and IT is over. Mountains and mole-hills.

Don't over think what I am saying/questioning. I really could care less about this. It was more of a pondering of why such a severe punishment.
We have a discussed the NCAA inconsistency before.
