Scoutin 4 Goodies

Chunky Dunk, Pross, Judge, and I met Billy at 5am on the dock. The 33 Freeman was glowing in the darkness from the LEDs. Chunky, Pross, and the Judge had the typical OHHs and AHHs as they stepped on board. Lots of "this is really cool, oooh look at that." After a few first trip of the season hiccups on our part we pushed off at 5:45.
We all stood at the helm and stared at the twin 12 inch NSEs as we ran out of the Jetties. Judge was first to retreat to the bean bag I followed about 3 mins later. Chunky, Pross, and Billy stayed at the helm. As soon as we cleared the jetties, Billy poured some more stream to the F350s and the rocket ship took off toward the fishing grounds.
Laying on 2 bean bags I quickly dosed off to the flat ride and the purr of the motors. What seemed like 25 minutes later. Chunky says 1 more mile!
We pulled the throttles back and started to deploy the spread. As I was letting the first rod out. BAM!! ZZZZZ!! Few minutes later we had a blackfin in the box. Then very shortly after BAM ZZZZZ!! The Judge is hooked up on a wahoo!
It really kicked into high gear at that point. The layout of Billy's boat is perfect for center console trolling. We had tons of room to move around and LOTS of rod holders to clear lines and set the trap. The wahoo were thick, they were going through tackle faster than I could tie it. Thank goodness I had restocked on hooks, leader, and sea witches from Atlantic Game and tackle before we left. Jeremy shared some pro tips that helped along the way too. 
The morning was SUPER hot. One after the other the wahoo came over the gunnel.
We had a coupled double, triple, and quadruple knockdowns. The wahoo won a few rounds and we got our wins too.
Mono and wahoo.... Talk about close calls. (we actually landed this fish)
Kept picking a the black fin along the way.
Then it happens, I am driving the boat, which has power assist steering and more technology than the space shuttle, man this is a cool ride.... anyway back to the fish. The port long rigger right next to my head snaps and the reel SCREAMS to life and I mean SCREEMS!! I grab the rod and Billy jumps to the helm. I have the fish on a 30w top shotted. Before I know it all the mono is gone and I am looking at a shrinking spool of braid. Chunky and crew clear me a hole in the spread.
I work him to the boat and Chunky sticks him. Personal best Blackfin!
The day continues countless cut offs and re-rigs even with wire, they are hitting the swivels! But we stuck with them.
Chunky and Billy got double on!
Ever so often we would have a brief lull in the action giving us time to enjoy some great sevchie Pross style!
Then out of no where comes a lit up Dolphin completeing the Meat fish slam. He came after the teaser and Pross buttoned him up Pro Style!
Just as we were getting ready to leave the tuna start busting. We make a pass and have a double hook up. The bigger one pulls off and I boated the smaller one. Just one more time.... we pass though again trying to add another couple tuna to the box. Then.....
BAM!! BAM!!, BAM!! BAM!!! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! 4 rods go down SCREAMING!! 3 of the four are CUT.... Their baaaaack......
We get the one to the box to close out the limit and head toward the hill.
Ride home was a breeze as we listened to the stereo and drank a few celebratory cold ones. Ran home just under 50. Got to the dock in no time.
We were treated to the a HUGE breeching Pilot whale in about 90 feet of water on the way in. VERY, VERY cool site.
Great day, great people, great fishing.

6 others (AJ, sharks, and bonita)
Got lots of people that helped us during the offseason to give fish to today. Thank goodness we were able to get on them.
Highlights:
Fishing on the Freeman! What a dream boat. Perfect fishing machine. Billy has REALLY figured it out. Can not thank him enough for letting us tag along.
Taught Billy the Clarendon Boys "fish on" yell. I think we scared him at first with all the screaming and hollering but by the end of the day he was in the trenches with us! 
Beautiful ocean, could not have asked for a better weather day!

If you are heading out this weekend. Have your Wahoo game face on they are thick and will DESTROY your tackle, push your reels to the limit, and you better have your "A" gaffing game going. They get testy boat side.

Anyone know what blackfin is leading the trident? I caught a SLOB yesterday. Billy is going to weigh it this morning.
MAN he has a SWEET ride. This was my first blue water trolling trip on the 33 Freeman. Can not say enough good things about it.

I couldn't read and look at all the pictures fast enough, Scott! Geez, it almost felt like being there as I was reading along! GREAT JOB! You guys worked your butts off, but it looks like the efforts well paid off!
We're headed out Sunday! I'm so excited about going that Jack is making me sleep in another room! I'm having fish catching dreams in my sleep, and I think I'm practicing my gaffing as well...

Nothing like setting the bar to high!
We talked about that. I told Billy this would be difficult to top week.
