I started to get the soar throat/massive head cold that has been going around my household. The doctor recommended I treat it with salt water therapy so I decided to go offshore fishing!

Headed out of Buck Hall in a Pioneer 197SF around 3:45AM hoping to have lines in the water 60 miles out by 6. See the thunderstorm? It was sitting directly over our first waypoint (GT Hole) and we saw 2 different water spouts develop. Needless to say we changed our plans and headed to some numbers to the Southwest Banks. Good call too.

Only 4 knockdowns all day but 3 for 3 on Wahoo and 1 for 1 on AJ The water temp was 74 degrees and the Bonita Plug was the lure of the day.

You got that right. That is why I look so glum. Even had the head shake. I thought it was a daymaker for sure.

The last wahoo of the day hit immediately after I pulled this AJ into the boat. It hit the ZMan skirted ballyhoo while I was letting it out. My arms were toast after that (and that is saying something since I have 20" guns ).

That is some great fishing right there Not much better than wahoo. I'm needing a day like that. Would you tell me what kind of lure is in the fish's mouth in this pic?

Thanks.

That looks like a marauder. We had a hoo pull the hook studs out of one today and the ring broke on another. Thought they were a little better quality than that.

Wow never heard of that happening. Dont know what brand but if they were Braid maraders I'd contact the company. They have a really good customer service dept. Yozuri's line are quality too though.

That's what I call the old "shapeshifter". Can't say that I haven't had a few of them myself. Had a wahoo on one day that turned into the biggest bonita that I had ever seen before it got to the boat. That's why you gotta get them in quick, before they have a chance to change into a less desireable species... The bronzefin tuna has surfaced in my wash a few times as well...
