I'm in need of a reliable mechanic that is Verado certified. I'd prefer to see Chris V, but they're not Verado cert. Would anyone recommend Whitton, Longshore, or Duncans?

| I've had all the above mentioned Chas shops work on my optis and strongly recommend Longshore. Labor rate is a bit pricey but they do good work, are fair, and treat you right. |

Problem I am finding with Verado's is the rates these shops are charging to work on them. Down in FL they are charging $190 an hour to do an oil change and then nickle and dime you to death on shop materials, disposal costs, etc. 100 hour service costs are pushing $1,000 an engine. I can buy parts off the internet and do it myself for about $150 an engine. But now many of the marinas will not allow you to work on your boat on there property or you have to use there people. Its very frustrating.
Longshore is my first choice, Whitton is second. My experience is both do good work but neither are what I would call a good deal. Scary how expensive boating is getting, Costs are going through the roof at an alarming rate. Charleston is much better then my experiences in FL this winter. |

| Hanckel Marine serviced a 225 Verado that I put 3100 hours on in 4 years with no problems. Great service at fair price |
