Putting new electronics in a 31' Contender. Been looking around, don't really want to spend more than 3k. Radar is newer Furuno, and works fine, so I dont need it. Really just looking for a Chartplotter/Sounder combo. It had Furuno on it, but GPS is crap, and Sonar is old school, works great when it does, but its falling apart literally, the face is coming off the body.

I've been looking at the Lowrance HDS-10 Gen 2's, anyone have one?

The only down side is I hate to waste that thru hull transducer already on the boat, idk if it will work with newer equipment. Furuno Stuff looks great, I just don't want to spend 6k on one unit.

Let me know any reccommendations you guys have, thanks

the HDS-10 is a great unit, install several of them
cant go wrong with garmin either
if you bottom fish, buy the most powerful bronze flush mount thru-hull transducer you can afford
makes a huge difference
dont think the old trnsdcr will work on the new stuff
