I am new to this forum but have been enjoyinh Edisto for about 15 years now. I am coming down this weekend with a little Scout to try some fishing. Could someone give me a few tips on areas (broad is fine!) Maybe some creek names that could be productive? I have a map, but am very unfamiliar with the creeks.
I was planning on using a fishfinder rig with live mud minnows or shrimp. Does that sound like a decent way to go about things?
Thanks so much for you help. I will buy you a beer at Whaley's!
Haven't fished down there since December. You should be fine with your rig and a mud minnow. Don't be scared to put him under a popping cork too. I'd fish holes in creek bends on the low tide. Menhaden may be showing up too. Catch a few of them and fish with them too. Check with Edisto Marina--they will tell you what's biting. Ugly Duck and Fishing with Bob are always eager to help---they read this and may be able to lead you right. Good luck and enjoy yourself.
