How's the fishing down at the battery? Somebody told me all you could catch there were rough fish... I usually ride over to Sullivans or Folly but I live downtown and I'd like somewhere to fish within walking distance, any suggestions?

Battery;
I've had pretty good luck fishing the Battery. It really depends on where ya at. I tend to fish the high part near the steps of the Battery near the park. Can catch some good sized whiting. Typical sharks, rays and skates. Sometimes, during high tide you can see sheepshead feeding in the rocks. Scenery is great. Cons; no bathrooms, parking, tourists.
Colonial Lake;
Caught flounder and redfish there. Fish the inlet tube on the Ashley side. Scenery is good.
Long Lake;
That's the lake on Lockwood. Caught flounder, croaker, shad. There's supposed to be reds in there. Crabbing's good. Fish the inlet tube at the dock. Can get crowded. If you go across the street behind the gas station to the spillway. Reds, whiting, black drum. Lots of oyster beds there, very little water at low tide.
Brittlebank park;
They actually have a pretty nice pier there. Crabbing good. Even have a boat dock. Whiting, blues, sharks, skates/rays. Fishing isn't too great there. Keep your doors locked. I've never had any trouble there. Can get crowded and lines tangled.

Of course, this is fishing. So depending on what's there, bait, tides, timimg. I've fishing these areas and caught stuff. Sometimes not. Good Luck

Ya know, it must be nice living in Neverneverland. Remind me to come visit you, when I need a break from reality.
