I have an c-80 series Ray Marine. It is a flush mount on c c. Took my boat out for a test run yesterday and switched it on. Screen shows nothing but alot of thin horizonal lines multi- colored. Kind of like your t v cable does when a storm is coming. It's @ 8 yrs old, I think! Did it die over the winter? Anything I can do to fix? Thanks!

I know of many raymarine products that are older then 8 years. That being said it maybe that your did completely die. I would call raymarine customer service and see what they say. It may be just shipping them the screen and they can repair it. There customer service is very good from my experience with them.

Appreciate the replies. I have had in the back of my mind to up-grade units. Is the E-80 a good unit? Is there other units out there that would be much better than mine that wouldn't cost me an arm and leg?

check with Dave Grafton on here "DGYF34" about his ongoing issues with raymarine. He has replaced his sounder a handful of times and now he was told to keep sending them back if it says "MEXICO" on the case. He was told to try and get one of the units made in Switzerland.

I have the E-80 and love the system. I have had it on my boat for the past 4 years. The only problem I have had is with the DSM 300 for the fish finder. I think that part is a piece of crap. If I was in your shoes and had the money I would upgrade to the new e97 with CHIRP. Your old c series or my e series is not able to connect up with some of the newer systems out there. Also look at garmin. They put our a good package system for a good price and they also have the CHIRP.

Thanks Chad, I will go online tonight and look it up! The fish finder was a disappointment to me also. Course I wasn't sure if it was me or the unit!

Oh! I did call Raymarine service line this morn. Accidentally got a girl in Sweden. Ha ha! She said there lines were crossed up. She connected me to some guy in the states! He said 10 day turn around or recommended that I go to boat take my palm and push against screen. Said don't hit it just push with moderate force. He felt like that would fix my problem. What do you think @ that??

Wow! I'm going into the marine electronics repair business! Whoda thunkit! I can fix it with a wave of my hand. That will be $200.
