planned on sighting in our weapons for our upcomming KW trip freediving the jetties for sheeps! weather issues prevented that! already in the water with realfish01,john and fishcrazy so we hit a nearshore reef with fids. fealfish01 put on a class on jigging up a limit of weakfish! the redfish were also hitting in 45', landing some slots and a few over sized ones. could not get the bait to the bottom before something hooked up, tons of good sized bsb's, also one of the largest whiting I have seen. headed in early and now know why they call him fishcrazy! after we left and the rain quit eric showed him how to catch the sheeps from the dock, calming him down and completing the slam!

If it got any better I couldn't stand it.

Bug Catcher,
You mentioned freediving at the jetties,
What's the visibility at the jetties?
Do you try and time your dive near slack?

RDW,you only need about 4/5 feet of viz. Just before high slack is when the vis is best! I throw a 2' long piece of 2x4 on an old rope into the rocks(which you can cut or leave behind in a emergency) then anchor the front of the boat away from the rocks. just hang off the motors and the sheeps will work up and down the rocks feeding, drop down, shoot, throw him in the boat and wait for the next school to come by!Its only about 10 ft at the bottom of the rocks. I usually work the outside of the south jettys 3/4 out to the end. the tide and viz don't always work out but when its rite I've shot a boatload of 4 to 10lb sheeps on a good day, good luck! two water spouts sat eve in the harbor really s--t up the viz sun morn.

If it got any better I couldn't stand it.
