Are Hogs OK to eat when killed in the summer months? Just got permission to hunt some land with Hogs around S Santee and was wondering if they carried any diseases.
Fine to eat all year long. Most feral pigs contain swine bruceleosis, primarily in the reproductive system and care should be taken while cleaning them. I think a processor got it a year so ago from cleanin a wild pig. I allways use rubber gloves just to be on safe side.
