got to the club early this morning, headed down into the swamp where i heard birds a month ago. only heard one far off gobbling on roost. got quiet for next 40mins, heard some crows out in field so i headed in that direction. once i got to the field i heard faint gobbles near the crows as i headed across to the same field i killed bird in last month. once i got to the field edge i could see one strutting and one other bird in middle of field. birds kept heading away from me so i went through the woods and crawled up to field edge about 200yds down. this time when i called the gobbler came lookin for me, didnt use any decoys. he and two jakes also came looking. i dropped him at 44yds, thought he was closer than that. only had one spur, just over 1", beard a little over 8". was a great season for me

Way to drop the hammer on a late season bird. Good deal! Congrats.

Ive always heard that when you hear crow going wild and crazy with calling its usually because of a turkey, but I do not know how true this is. So far over the last few seasons its proved true for me. Saw them die bombing a gobbler in a field this year.
