Has anyone been fishing Murray? We have a Youth Bass Club tournament up there on May 19th. We are from Horry county so we don't get to fish lakes very often. We are river rats. Any advice (depths, lures, etc..) would be greatly appreciated. These kids are anxious and excited about the opportunity and I would love to be able to give them some solid advice to take with them. BTW, the tournament is out of Dreher Island State park and there are 15 teams in the state of SC. It is currently in contention to become an official high school sport. It is also a good feeder system to educate the youth of SC proper techniques and fishing etiquette. I myself am an old salt...I love the marshes and salt water!! Thanks in advance for any information you might have for me!!

Try either Green Pumpkin trick worms Carolina rigged or June Bug U tale worms Texas rigged. I went through 17 Green Pumpkins last Saturday or points and secondary points between 5' and 15' deep. Best bite I've seen or Murray in a while. The spawn appears to be over and done with where I've been fishing.
