| Today was the best day I have ever had fishing. I wasn't even going to mess around in the salt because if the moon but follybeachpeanutguy was goin out and called me up. Glad I DID! We ran up to a creek mouth by kiawah beach ans caught nothin but bait. Drifted the stono inlet closer to the sandbar as opposed to kiawah beach. Missed one shark and didn't have anything on crab or menhaden or the gotcha plug, was really lookin for a Spanish!. Day so far didn't look so good. Ran up inside the kiawah river and slayer em! After anchoring up on the second dock I fished one dock and FBPG had the other dock. He catches a big 27" redfish before he has time to put it in the rodholder. Then not 3 minutes later another one in the same spot. Then I love over their and BAM a redfish inhaled my mud minna, then I proceeded to lose him. Then my next fish a comes a little while later on a mud minnow on the same floating dock. Biggest fish of ky life 26" then later a 27" then a big 28". I caught the biggest fish if my life 3 times! FBPG caught a 27 a 25 a 26 and, a 23 that we kept. All on our minnows around the floating dock throughout the day. Then I start using the dead shrimp to try for a sheepshead or black drum. I caught a 10 black drum against some bricks in between 2 pylons. Then FBPG catches a slot drum then my turn, then we went through several smaller ones. He caught another red on some dock structure and we net him on a small shrimp. Then an 18 trout on a big finger mullet cruising the mud bank. Then some more small drum. I feel a small bite like a small drum or crowned or somethin, it hits again then I set the book, 25" spottail bass. CRAZY! then we started catching rays so left. Went up a creek to catch some sharks. First shark ever for me is an 18' bonnethead. Nothin special so we threw him back. Then BOOM a nice 3ft bonnethead on shrimp on battle 4000. That's it, more rays so call it a day. Had a very "interesting" time getting the boat on the trailer. First time behind the wheel=almost sunken truck... I stopped it and burned rubber pulling it back up. Tailfate was under he says! In ky defense no one told me to keep ky foot on the brake while switchen gears.. haha but it was a great day and one of my most fun times out on the water ever! Can't wait to go again, hopefully ill be able to weasel out if school after exams this week and fush! Fishing is definitely back on now! |
