Great trip on Sat with Doc,Laura,Jorze,Rubba,Les,and The Baitman-Left way too early around 330 to find a rough ocean waiting.Went deep to avoid a thunderstorm and first bite of the year around 7am was a beautiful 500lb blue marlin. Rubba fed him perfectly and hooked him and then had a bit of a standoff with Laura about who was going to the chair. Rubba had two problems;1)Owners daughter also has never caugh a blue one.2) She was already in the chair. Laura fought the beast for a few minutes while she gave us 4-5 awesome jumps in plain view. Then she Spat the hook right back to us. On to the meatfish. Picked at the dolphin for a few hours and finally caught a $5000,I mean 8lb tuna. We then managed to get three wahoos including a 50lber. Unbelievable day and ended up winning Meatfish slam-Overall,largest wahoo, female, and Jr angler.8 gaffers(18lb)1 blackfin(8lb),and 3 hoos(50lb) Great tournament and sure was fun to be back on Uncle "B" dock. Kudos to my man Les Smith dealing with stomach issues all day and hanging in there and reeling in half the fish.
