I'm looking for a campground that's a beachfront campground similar to what you get in Myrtle Beach but wanting to be in charleston area. Are there any and if so which ones are these? Which ones are the best?

Your only option for true beachfront is Edisto State Park, which is 35 miles south of Charleston. Very difficult to get in there. Stays booked most of the time. Buck Hall is in Awendaw and on the ICW but not the beach. Very small - only 14 sites. James Island Co. Park is great and close to Folly Beach but several miles away. KOA on Hiway #17 in Mt. Pleasant but again, close, but not on the beach. Good Luck.

This is even farther South of Charleston...

We also have Capers Island Heritage Preserve if you have a boat to get there, very primitive camping. Personally I've never been.

Be tough to get the 35' camper on the boat but thanks.. I'll check these out for sure. May stay at trophy lakes when I come down for a disc golf tournament next month. Not quite sure yet
