Bought a cooler from the Columbia West Marine for use as a seat for my Ankona. Install the tie downs and before I could get it snug... snap goes the tie down loop. Receipt lost and pretty chittin at the whole deal. Call em up and the guy says he can look the transaction up (2 weeks old tops). Get there and no questions asked. Walked out with new cooler in hand.
My west marine here in charlotte has been awesome. Bought an 8 ft antenna for the vhf (snaped other on shed roof). Put it in back of the truck and off i went down the road. Well went over a bump and out the antenna went still cardboard tube onto the road. Got to my destination no antenna. Went back found it in the road run over and shattered in multiple places. I went back to west marine to buy another. I got there they asked me what happened as i was trying to buy the same antenna again and i told them the story. They swapped it out for free no questions asked.
We have always found West Marine to be top notch as well. A lot of people complain about their prices, but keep in mind they "price match" so if you have an ad (like a print off from the internet) with a lower price on what you intend to purchase, they'll match the price.

I buy lots from West Marine and use the price march a lot. It kind of upsets me that I have to price match, but they have been really helpful everywhere except the one in Anderson. Anderson seems to work harder to figure out how not to help you vs how to figure it out. They said they couldn't order me an HDS and the one in Columbia ordered it, had it there 2 days later and the box had my name on it with my reduced price when I got there. I told them about a price match before I ordered it and they had no prob. Beaufort is pretty good too, seem to keep one guy and go through the rest of them.
