I fished the lower Cooper the past couple of days after some of my normal spots weren't producing and I was pleasantly surprised at the mixed bag that I was able to pull out. I think I managed 5 reds, 12-14 trout, and 15 flounder. All of the flounder were on the smaller side but its a start. Has anyone noticed that there seems to be less bait in the water right now than at this time last year?

Yeah. I didn't realize that those were in the pics until I got home. I won those as prizes on the KBF Saltwater Challanges last year. They are nice rods but they are no substitute for my Avids. It won't be long before those go up for sale.

Nice to meet you too Sean...I had a fish hit my bottom rig like a freight train, and after a brief fight, he shot through some oysters and broke my line. Also caught a small shark.

Wait, not only do I want to know approximately where and on what you caught the flounder, but what am I to make about the comment on the Loomis rod? I just came across a Loomis/Shimano combo at a yard sale last weekend and was thinking it was now the nicest rig I have. Do you have bad experience with Loomis?

Nothing wrong with Loomis rods, very nice in fact. I think they mention it because Carter is sponsored by St Croix.
