Girlfriend ask me to go fishing this afternoon so you know after work i was burning rubber to put boat in. After we got bait and got to sail club and launch we ran out to some super not so secret hot numbers and found balls of bait and stripers so big I needed a bigger screen. We threw baits in and put trolling motor out to go back over them and the ole minnkota will go forward but wont steer, autopilot wont work nothing.....so we tried to fight the wind drifting and that was too much trouble so we headed back in before the big storms came. I dont think the fish were biting between storms but boy they were there. Marked all fish between 30-50' no matter how deep the water.....once I sort out the trolling motor we will be back on them.

yeah it is a minnkota and unfortunately I know him and how quick he is! He actually fixed it last year late one night while i stood there waiting. He is great and good service. I just feel like I shouldnt have to go have him fix it right now. haha.

It could be pins not connecting good in the flat plug. try making the plug alittle oval then re insert the male end.

Mine does that every once in a while. Unplugging and the foot control and plugging it back in a few times fixed it. Might even try some di-electric grease

Pulled the motor apart tonight and metered it all out. the problem is the compass board in the head. good voltage when activating the pedal to turn going in. but nothing coming out....also added voltage to turn motor wires in and it turns right switch polarity it turns left. so that is all good. Control board metered out good too. looks like I will be swapping out the Compass Board. Waiting on a phone call from Minn Kota. Also am considering upgrading to iPilot as well during the process.
