Got a text from Jordan this morning asking if I'd like to do a little inshore fishing on his new ride instead of the yaks. My answer after a little quick negotiating with the Mrs... "You bet I do!"
Agreed to meet Jordan, his girlfriend, and her friend at Shem Creek after lunch and check out some incoming tide spots.
Got to say that every Tom, Dick, and Harry with gas money was on the water today, but after a nice ride, we pull into spot number 1. Pretty place, just overrun with baby sharks... it's that time folks
Chilled for a while catching a few sharks and watching the tide roll in.
Did pick up 1 keeper trout sent back to grow up.
Motored across the harbor and seek shelter from the wind in spot #2. Set the anchor, let the boat settle, put a mud minnow on the Carolina rig and first cast, little flattie.  this looks promising.
Got lines in the water and missed a few more flounder. Flounder and circle hooks just don't have very good hook up rates.
Switch to a Z-man weighted trigger and a few minutes later a little better flattie at 18" comes to hand. That one will be joining Jordan and Kat for dinner.
A little trout, maybe a keeper, probably not came to the party, then it was just crabs working on our baits for the rest of the afternoon.
Good times with good friends; who could ask for more?
Felt obliged to wear the Columbia gear since we were rolling out of Shem Creek

Thanks for coming out Tommy. I'm sure if we worked that eddy more and didn't run out of bait then we could have gotten plenty more flounder but one was good enough for dinner. Cooked it on the grill with corn and peppers and it was awesome.
You didn't get a picture with the bigger one?
