Put in at Remleys and tooled around Drum island for the afternoon. Got to fish with my best friend who came down from NC for the weekend. Started out getting just nibbles but no hookups, the bite finally came on later in the evening. Nothing hitting on live bait but got three nice Flounder, 15, 18 & 22. All came in on a pearl/white redfish magic lure. No special technique, just let it settle and crank it in. Lost another nice Flounder at the side of the boat jut before we could grab the net. Also got a few hits on a 4" DOA Rootbeer/Chart on a 1/8 jig head. Wished we could've caught more but thats how it always goes. Also netted a few crab around some oyster beds. Made for a good dinner.
I'm doing my best to catch them. I'm pretty new to the saltwater fishing. Moved down here last Feb and until then the extent of my saltwater experience was at Myrtle on the piers. Used to do alot of Crappie fishing up in NC along with a fair amount of Catfishing. Never got into the bass too much. If I could just learn to throw the cast net better I would be able to fish more and stop wasting half the day throwing the net to get bait. LOL
