Got some finger mullet, big mullet, and pin fish at the tidal pools on 26 1/2 - 27 street. Got to the fort and most were dead( this was odd, car was cool, water was cool, short ride so the water wouldn't go bad that fast... would it?). Unfortunately 2 guy's and a gal had taken my honey hole for flounder, the left of the rocks, by the red buoey, grillage, whatever you call it so I just ended up fishing to the right of the rock's.Waited till haddrell's was open and my dad went and got 2 dozen mud minnows. Was using a double drop rig with 1/0 j hooks. I didn't catch any thing except a 2 ft. shark, I think it was a black tip, I don't know my shark's to well so I don't know. Either way the other group caught 5 or so flounder. Get out, try it, catch some fish!!!

You should try a fish finder rig, and when you fish move down the beach. Everyone fish by the rocks behind the fort, I would try around 16th station. I went out last week and caught enough for dinner for a couple of nights. yeah the flounder is great around the rocks, but from 18th down to the lighthouse it is some of the best fishing on the beach. When you fish that area you have to walk a good distance out in the water to get to the drop off, but when you find the drop off you will catch more fish than you can handle.

Thank's steven! I'll try that next time I go out, any recommended bait and species to go for? Btw what type of fish were you catching?
