yea, that is one of the best...
EDIT: ok, I struck the line above because I'm not gonna let you off that easily...you can't just organize your iTunes folder by song length and claim the best jam ever you gotta give this one some thought...mine your old vinyl and boots and come up with something epic...I challenge you!
I'm gonna toss out No Quarter from Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy... Destroyer (Cleveland '77) is pretty solid version... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKGh-c2NVqQ some of the 73 and 74 tours included a 20+ minute version...Jonesey's organ and Page's theramin-laden solos are nice...and of course I'm a tad partial to Bonzo's drumming
nice thread shevlin, you just made me revisit some of my older bootleg collection...

That's a killer one, Traffic Low Spark is a good one too. Depends on the mood.
Did you catch the waybacks cover of Eat a Peach from Merle Fest 2011? Their Les Bres is sick.
What's your opinion on coolest cover?

nothing and I mean NOTHING compares to Duane. You are right on with that 23 min mark Shelvin......with Berry Oakley hammering down....gives me chills. 24:02 through 25 as well.
Although listen to some of the recordings of Mountain Jam with Derek and Warren. The 2009 Beacon run has some exceptional versions. I have a recording of the Brothers shortly after they fired Dickey in 2000 with Derek and Jimmy Herring. Will make you go, Dickey who?? |

I was up at the beacon and was able to see it live, fantastic, but nothing compares to Duane as you said,
Derek & Warren are amazing together but nobody can replace that unique sound that Dickey had. Just different I guess. |

I could care less that Freddy Mercury was gay. He had the greatest voice of anyone I have ever heard, and have never heard anyone with the range that he had. We actually went to chick-fil-a on the boycott day

Ahhhh, Rush, last concert I ever went to was the Moving Pictures by Rush up in Vancouver,BC.
Didn't end too well, for some at least got caught up in a standing crowd 15 people wide trying to leave the building. I don't do crowds well like that and finally snapped and spotted in the distance a lit up exit sign. Put my arms across my chest, chin down and started walking, thru, on top of, over people, gal I was with said she just grabbed my belt and hung on and I drug her with me. Got to "emergency exit" sign and there was 400# blk bouncer guarding door, I just calmly put my hands on his hips and lifted him to the side of the door and proceded to bust out in the open air sucking in all the oxygen in the atmosphere as I got outside! Was on a fire escape stairway 5 stories up still, looked at gal was with and asked her how the heck we got there, I didn't remember a thing from the point we were in the crowd till we were outside! Was pretty scary actually, was a true walking blackout. If I go somewhere it's really crowded I just make it worse, so now I just stay away!!

| I can't hold a candle to all you old bastards but I was pretty impressed when I saw Yonder Mountain play with Panic at the coliseum a couple years ago. Yonder's rendition of "If You're Ever In Oklahoma" is one of my favorites. |

I wouldn't say I'm old... 33, too young to be a die hard Allman Brothers fan I'd say. Saw them several places, including the Beacon Theatre when my wonderful girl friend at the time gave me tix for valentines. Tedeschi was their guest that night and she rocked, both on the guitar and her voice. Saw Yonder at Bonnaroo, dig em' but not someone I'd say jams really. Saw Panic too, they are definitely good. I'll say it... I dig some DMB too. Saw them with Robert Randolph which was sick, saw them with Warren Haynes at the Piedmont Park show in ATL which was also amazing. That combo's Cortez the Killer is unbelievable, highlighted in the Central Park dvd and the Piedmont Park dvd.
