I have a 2010 1860 Duracraft with 2004 4 stroke 60 HP Mercury (not bigfoot). I bought the boat used and the guy I bought it from had the 60HP motor in his shop. The motor came off a pontoon boat and he rebuilt the bottom end. He gave me a good price for the motor and he trimed the package out for me(Mounted motor and trolling motor on the boat). He left the orignal prop 3 blade, 14 pitch allum. on the motor. The prop pushes my 1860 the WOT around the 5500 rpm range with 20 gal(full)@ 31MPH and around 5800 rpm near empty. It is slow to get on plane, but once on plane,I can back off the throttle and run at average speed. I just purchase a 3.35 x 13P (Haven't recived it yet)... I know it will raise my RPM up by 150-200. My max range is 6000 RPM on the motor. I just wanted anyone's advice that has more experience than I do, will the 13P help me on the hole shot? I am worried that I will be close to going over my WOT 6000RPM range when the gas tank is near empty. Any advice will be greatly appreciated...

If you are at 5800 now in the summer then you will be pushing 6000 in the winter. Sounds pretty close to me, but it looks like you are getting a lot more slippage than normal. The prop could be worn. Just see what kind of numbers the 13p gives you, but I bet you will find that your rpms may stay the same, and so will your top speed, and just gain a better hole shot. That 14p prop on that small motor for an 18' is working hard. I think you will be happy with the 13p, but report back when you get it.

Also, a prop with more cupp, or bite will reduce you slippage and increase performance. What model 13p prop did you order?

Geronimo, I order the Mercury/quicksliver Black Diamond 10-3/8x 13P.. I hope it does the trick... The prop on there now is a little worn with a few nicks on there.... Bad Habit, I was going to put a whale's tail on it, but the guy I bought it from said a fin wouldn't really help it because it is an all welded allum boat... Unlike a slick bottom fiberglass boat... It has a weld along the bottom of the transom, so he said that you couldn't really tell a diffrents with a whale tails on there.. Also, a few other people I talked to said that it wouldn't help... I appreciated all the advice... I will put it on next week and let ya'll know how it does..

I put the 13P prop on last week, before the labor day holidays. The hole shot is much better, but the speed is about the same so I am happy with it. The 13P is pushing around 5900-6000 RPM's. I think that I am ok on the WOT RPM's, since the max RPM'S is 6000.... Thanks for the advice!!!
