Here you are jpru2001: Info was calculated using a four arm u-rig with (5) 3/4 oz. jigs trolled at 2.5 mph. Add depth in feet to downrigger ball depth. Add 2 feet for each additional jig.

Depth in feet---------Distance behind the boat in feet
12.0------------------ 70
12.8------------------ 80
13.5------------------ 90
14.1------------------ 100
14.7------------------ 110
15.4------------------ 120
16.0------------------ 130
16.9------------------ 140
17.7------------------ 150
18.6------------------ 160
19.5------------------ 170
20.5------------------ 180
21.5------------------ 190
22.5------------------ 200

nice nice....where'd ya get that chart? That confirms what I was thinking. We usually run them 120-150 back, and were thinking 15' or so deeper, from snags and such. I run the four arms with five bucktails or shad bodies also. I also run them about 2.5. Thanks.

All credit for the chart goes to Capt. Mack.

If you don't mind I'll jump in here and ask for clarification.....Is the data simply for an umbrella rig with nothing else attached? Can data be applied to to downriggers.....if I have the downrigger ball at 15 ft and the umbrella rig (5 ea 3/4 oz jigs) trolled at 2.5 mph with 70 ft of line from the release clip, then the umbrella rig depth would actually be 27 ft???

I use this chart with my downriggers and found it to be fairly accurate. I run it just like you said.

Yeah, I run downriggers and I think the chart looks good from snags and such.
