I have a 50. Would prefer a 56 but it was not an option in the scope I bought. Your pupil is 5 to 7mm in diameter so your max light drawing capabilty occurs at a power less than or equal to objective diameter/7. So a 56 objective will let you use 8 power and not loose any light. Bigger is better for light. This is the same for all optics. So use that formula when buying binoculars as well.

3.5x10x45 Bushnell. See fine late and not break the bank. Used a 56 on a borrowed gun once - sun anywhere near where you are looking and you get an awful glare. It is super for late hours shots!
Some one needs to buy the new Leupold VX-7 4.5-18x56mm. It has a 34mm tube, yep you read that right not 30mm but a 34mm tube. In theory it should be the best light drawing scope on the market.
Wonder how it does compared to the big boy Swarovski and Zeiss?

I vote gotcha to put it on one of his autos.
Reel-Man or Boy Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
Put a Leupold VX-L 3.5-10 x 50mm B&C ret on my new Tikka T3 .270
Get to look at the corn for a full 30 minutes after it "gets dark"
Someone earlier mentioned that the composite stock was too slick. I found a pair of Rocky gloves at Central in MC that work great. They are like golf gloves but camo. Have just the right amount of tackiness to grip the stock.
If you want to add a new dimension to your hunting or fishing get a pair of image stabilized binocs. They are worth every penny. ...and for all the high dollar gear that you see on the hunting shows I can't remember ever seeing anyone using them. The Navy air traffic controllers are starting to use them in the towers.
